“I want to create paintings that allow the viewer to enter a world of their own imagination and experience an adventure of color and emotion. When people tell me I have accomplished this, that’s when I feel I have done my job as an artist!" Originally from New York, Mary Ann Stabile moved to San Diego with her family in 1975 and has lived in Carlsbad for over 35 years. Mary Ann studied music at the Manhattan School of Music and majored in art at the esteemed Pratt Institute in Manhattan. She is proud to be a descendant of the renowned Spanish Baroque painter, Bartolomé Esteban Murillo. Ms. Stabile has been taking art courses at Mira Costa College for the past six years, devoting her time to classes in Portrait and Figure, Sketching and Drawing, Pastels, Watercolor, Acrylic and her most favorite medium… oil! Because of her love of family and animals her favorite art pieces are those featuring these subjects.
